It’s Monday morning and you are awakened by an alarm sound blaring from your smart phone. “In five more minutes I’ll get up,” you say to yourself as you hit snooze. You close your eyes once more to catch five more minutes of shut eye. BEEP BEEP! You hit snooze and stay in bed for another 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes… 40 minutes goes by. “SHOOT, I have five minutes to get ready.” You throw yourself together and head out of the door. The moment you get in your car you remember you decided to get gas in the morning insteaed of last night; you have 10 miles until empty. As you’re stopping to get gas on the way, you realize you left an important work item at home. Once again you’re late to work, hoping it goes unnoticed this time. You’re fed up, you’re over it, you wish you could stop this vicious cycle. Despite your best efforts and telling yourself “I’ll wake up early enough to get gas next time” or “I’ll start getting ready the night before,” you find yourself repeating these same patterns.
